Peter Bourjos (March 31, 1987) was born in Park Ridge, Illinois and attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was selected by the Angels in the 10th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, and signed on August 18, 2005. Bourjos was recognized as the Angels minor league system's Defensive Player of the Year in 2009. Going into the 2010 season, he was named the second best prospect in the Angels system, the 'Fastest Baserunner', and the 'Best Defensive Outfielder' by Baseball America. He is currently a center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In 2011, Bourjos hit .271 in 147 games for the Angels, and his 11 triples led the American League. He also finished second in the AL in assists by a centerfielder with 10 in 2010. |
